Various statutes, court rules, and binding case law govern the time periods to set cases on for hearing or other proceedings before the Court.  If a person wishes to request their case to be placed on a court calendar, generally a calendar request and notice of hearing must be issued using the required form established by the Civil Case Management Rules.  The Guilford County District Court Judges' Chambers has published lists of available court sessions for which a litigant may request that a matter/case be placed on the court's calendar along with the deadlines to submit such a request. The following lists are directly supplied by the District Court Judges' office. These lists are based on the requirements contained in the Civil Case Management Rules for this Judicial District. The calendaring timelines contained in the Civil Case Management Rules are based on the generally applicable timelines required for notice and calendaring contained in the Rules of Civil Procedure, and General Rules of Practice governing the District Courts, as well as binding case law; however, depending on the particular nature of your case/matter longer timelines may be applicable.  Before submitting a calendar request or issuing a notice of hearing, it is your responsibility to ensure that you have complied with all applicable statutes, court rules, and binding case law and have properly served and notice all required parties.
